David will talk about the financial newswire business and the latest developments therein, algo trading for macroeconomic news/data. He will include his experiences of working through the credit crunch crisis as a financial journalist and how his firm covers data releases, the Bank of England and the European Central Bank. David is currently London Bureau Chief for Market News International, a post he has held for the past 5 years and which has brought him into close contact with UK economic policymaking. Prior to that he was in Brussels for 10 years as bureau chief for BridgeNews and for Knight-Ridder Financial News for where he covered the launch of the euro and the setting up of the European Central Bank. David is a graduate of King's College, London and London School of Economies.
